Health Tip #6: Staying Asleep
If you have difficulty staying asleep, don’t look at the clock. You will train your brain to wake you up at that time. Instead, help your body produce more melatonin to help you sleep by having your bedroom completely dark and cover up your clock with a face cloth – don’t peek! You can also
- Open the window to let fresh air in
- Make sure you turn off your cell phone, iPad, TV at least 30 minutes before going to bed.
- Try meditation or deep breathing.
- Organize your day in the morning over breakfast, not the night before. Give your mind a rest at night and think about things in your life that make you happy.
